Since it was created in 1994, the Pritchett Trust, named after William and Athlyn Pritchett, has granted 9.3 million dollars to area schools, service organizations, and non-profits. This year, the Foundation awarded more than $480,000 in grant dollars with $78,311 going to Pittsburg Community Schools.
"Today is my favorite day because it helps us give thanks to what you do in Southeast Kansas and for Crawford County as a whole," Kim Nolan, BMO Harris Bank VP Bank Manager said.
With the grants, students in the district will be able to implement more Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) curriculum, purchase musical equipment, fund field trips, an Automated External Defibrillator, and a washer/dryer set.
