The Pittsburg Business Education Alliance sponsored a CCCO Day at the Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium for Crawford County juniors and seniors on Jan. 23, 2008. There were representatives from local businesses, area community colleges and vocational schools, the military, Pittsburg State University, and health care providers to provide information on what options are avaliable to students locally after graduation. This information may help students make important decisions about their future after high school. There was a short presentation on credit and banking. High Schools participating were Northeast, Pittsburg, Frontenac, and Colgan. Vendors participating included the U.S. Army Recruiting, Bridges Community Care, Class Act School of Cosmetology, Crossland Construction, Crowder College Tech Prep, Kansas Army National Guard, KKOW AM/KKOW FM, KRPS Public Radio, Mt. Carmel Medical Center, Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local 664, PSU College of Technology, PSU-ROTC, U.S. Air Force, Superior Industries, City of Pittsburg, Class LTD, Cornerstone Village, Fort Scott Community College, FSCC-Harley Davidson, FSCC School of Cosmetology, Franklin Technology Center, Marrone's, Inc, Pittsburg Health and Rehabilitation, PSU Career Services, PSU Financial Office, SEK-CAP, Sugar Creek Packing Company, U.S. Navy Enlisted Program, Wardcraft, Westar Energy, and Labette Community College.
