USD 250 Board of Education members went through the steps of beginning yet another fiscal year during its regular meeting Monday night.

Members elected Ann Elliott as president of the board and Rich Ellis as vice-president for the 2006-2007 fiscal year.

Superintendent Gary Price addressed the board about needed changes for the upcoming school year.

Pending the ruling of the Kansas Supreme Court on the 2006 Kansas legislative school budget, USD 250 has rescheduled the budget workshop for July 25.

Due to the new Kansas Booster Seat Law, Price recommended the district purchase 10-12 new booster seats for use when transporting children ages 4 through 7.

The board unanimously voted to begin using the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Assessment. The assessment will take the place of the SAT 10 assessment.
