Applied Communication Technology - Graphic Communication Lithography

Indicator 1

The student will identify and use tools, material, and processes used in lithography.

The student will complete the following steps involved in offset lithography: a. Create copy b. Expose and process negative c. Strip negative d. Process offset printing plate e. Mix fountain solution f. Adjust inking system g. Ink up press h. Adjust dampening system i. Load paper on feeding system j. Register image k. Print l. Clean up press.

The student will identify and use tools, material, and processes used in silk screen printing.

The student will complete the following steps involved in silk screen printing. One Color: a. Create computer generated silk screen design b. Prepare a stencil c. Prepare a screen d. Print e. Clean up. Multi Color: f. Create computer generated silk screen design g. Prepare a stencil h. Prepare a screen j. Register colors k. Print l. Cure prints m. Clean up
