To equip and train high school students the video skills and knowledge to be successful, technical, and productive for further education and the video industry.

Benchmark 1

Video Production

Indicator 1

The student will format a video tape.

Indicator 2

The student will locate video segments by using Time Code.

Indicator 3

The student will operate an Edit Control Unit to control both the player VCR and the record VCR.

Indicator 4

The student will identify the differences between insert editing and assemble editing.

Indicator 5

The student will insert the video portion onto a video tape.

Indicator 6

The student will describe how a VCR reads and records information on a video tape.

Indicator 7

The student will insert edit onto one or two audio channels of a videotape.

The student will insert voice-overs onto a videotape.

The student will create a title and insert the superimposed title over a video background scene.

The student will demonstrate the use of various angle shots to add interest to their video projects.

The student will do simple sketches on a Storyboard sheet to plan and provide a quick reference while videotaping.

The student will evaluate the process of and the product videography.

Indicator 32

The student will name new career opportunities with the industry.

The student will develop good work habits and attitudes.

The student will be familiar and observe copyright regulations.

Indicator 35

The student will use and respond to terminology used in the industry of video production.

The student will conduct an interview using relevant questions and resources.

The student will work with various class members in groups to accomplish production tasks.

The student will develop and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, administrators, club/activity sponsors, and any other sources.
