To prepare students for entry level jobs or additional education in the business industry.

Benchmark 1

Introductions to computers and Quickbooks

Indicator 1

The student will use Menu commands.

Indicator 2

The student will use keyboard shortscuts/conventions.

Indicator 3

The student will use Quickbooks iconbar and Qcards.

Indicator 4

The student will use lists, registers, reports, and Quickzoom.

Indicator 5

The student will use QuickBooks graphs and QuickReports.

Indicator 6

The student will determine how to use: QuickMath, windows calculator, close, copy and backup.

Benchmark 2

Sales and Receivables: Service Business

Indicator 1

The student will open and verify a company.

Indicator 2

The student will use Navigator and inside tips.

Indicator 3

The student will use sales on account and print invoices and A/R reports.

Indicator 4

The student will add new: account customer items to list.

Indicator 5

The student will print sales receipts, customer detail report.

Indicator 6

The student will print journal, trial balance, and graphs.

Benchmark 3

Payables and Purchases: Service Business

Indicator 1

The student will enter and print an invoice and purchase order transaction.

Indicator 2

The student will enter and process a credit memo.

Indicator 3

The student will print the invoice and purchase order register.

Indicator 4

The student will print sales journal and purchases journal.

Indicator 5

The student will print checks for bills.

Indicator 6

The student will establish petty cash fund.

Indicator 7

The student will prepare check detail report.

General Accounting and End-of-Period Procedures

 

The student will add, delete, edit, make inactive the account maintenance.

Indicator 2

The student will adjust entries, owner withdrawals, and view general journal.

Indicator 3

The student will prepare, adjust, view, and print back reconciliation.

Indicator 4

The student will prepare and print cash flow forecast, profit and loss, and balance sheet.

Indicator 5

The student will perform end-of-period backup and closing.

Indicator 6

The student will access and edit transactions for previous period.

Indicator 7

The student will print post-closing reports.

Indicator 1

The student will enter, edit, correct, and print invoice sale on account.

Indicator 2

The student will prepare accounts receivable reports.

Indicator 3

The student will prepare customer balance detail report.

Indicator 4

The student will prepare sales discounts and credit memos.

Indicator 5 The student will record cash sales with sales tax.

Indicator 6

The student will view/print sales tax payable register.

Indicator 7

The student will deposit checks and credit card receipts.

Indicator 8

The student will record nonsufficient fund return check.

Indicator 9

The student will print journal, trial balance, and graphs.

Payables and Purchases: Merchandising Business

Indicator 1

The student will prepare, view, edit, and print purchase orders.

Indicator 2

The student will view stock status by item inventory report.

Indicator 3

The student will receive items ordered.

Indicator 4

The student will enter receipt of items and a bill.

Indicator 5

The student will purchase and pay for items using credit card.

The student will edit/enter using the accounts payable register.

Indicator 7

The student will print checks to pay bills.

The student will void and delete purchase orders, bills, checks, and credit card payments.

The student will create graphs.

Indicator 1

The student will define partnership.

Indicator 2

The student will view general journal.

Indicator 3

The student will prepare owner withdrawals.

Indicator 4

The student will prepare balance sheet.

Indicator 5

The student will transfer combined capital into individual capital account for each partner.

Indicator 6

The student will view employee journal report.

Indicator 7

The student will pay taxes and other liabilities.

Indicator 8

The student will file payroll tax forms: 941, 940, and W-2.
