Benchmark 1

The students will use different media, techniques, and processes to create art.

The students will use various drawing techniques with control.

The students will push, pull, drag, and/or scrape various media to make a variety of marks or strokes.

Benchmark 1

The students will use visual structures and functions of art to communicate ideas.

The students will demonstrate understanding of the elements of design. (line, shape, color, form, value, texture and space)

Indicator 2

The students will make tints by adding white to a color and shades by adding black to color.

Indicator 3

The students will recognize and use warm and cool colors.

Indicator 4

The students will use repeated lines to create patterns.

Indicator 5

The students will differentiate between foreground, middle ground and background.
