Tyler Koehn started his post high school season with the Brute Adidas Folkstyle National Tournament at the University of Nebraska Omaha. Tyler took third place at 135 lbs. going 8-1, defeating Cole Schmidt of Wisconsin in his medal match. He started his freestyle and Greco season with the Fila Cadet World Team Trials at Northwestern Unversity in Evangston, IL. Tyler wrestled 138.75 lbs. and went 3-2 in Greco and 5-2 Freestyle. From April to May he hit many tournaments in Kansas and Oklahoma before the Kansas State Tournament. In 2006 Kansas Freestyle/Greco State he won both styles at 140 lbs. Tyler went to New Mexico for the Southern Plains Regional Tournament. Tyler took 1st in both styles going 10-0. He then wrestled for Team Kansas at the Caded Natioanl Duals going 5-2 Greco and 7-1 in Freestyle. Two days later he went ot Oklahoma City and wrestled as a back up to his brother on Team Kansas at the Jr. National Duals, 140 lbs. Freestyle only. In this three week span, Tyler wrestled 31 matches going 26-5 overall. He finished his sophomore year out in Fargo, ND at the Asics Vaugh Cadet National Tournament. He went 6-2 in Greco, placing 5th and 7-2 in Freestyle, placing 7th. Tyler had a busy off season wrestling 184 matches in all three styles and going 167-17 over all. We project him to wrestle 152 lbs. in 2006-2007.
