Our team of more than 500 employees includes 200 licensed and 275 classified staff members. Ninety substitutes work on a temporary basis to fill the needs of teachers while they are learning and growing through professional development. USD 250 is dedicated to quality learning for all students and effective communication with all stakeholders. APPLICATION PROCESS
In our effort to create a more efficient and environmentally friendly district, the USD 250 Human Resources office utilizes a paperless process of hiring and recruiting. Paper applications are no longer accepted.
Our user-friendly online process allows applicants full control over their employment application profile. At any time applicants can modify their interest in specific job postings, and/or submit and edit additional documents. We understand that not all of our patrons have access to the internet or a computer. In order to provide equal opportunity, a computer is available to applicants at the Board of Education Office at 510 Deill Street.
SUBSTITUTE TEACHING
For questions regarding the substitute license application process please visit the Kansas Department of Education (KSDE) website.
The rate of pay for substitute teachers is as follows:
-- $85.00 per day for emergency and regular substitutes. If you are assigned to a long term assignment for a particular teacher, beginning the 11th consecutive day your pay will increase to $90.00 per day. Once that particular long term assignment has ended, you will return to the rate of $85.00 per day. Subs will be paid a Full Day of pay for working more than 4 hours, in one day. Subs will be paid a Half Day of pay for working 4 hours or less, in one day.
