USD 250 Names Four Assistant Principals

On March 27, 2023, the USD 250 Board of Education approved four new assistant principals; three positions are new to the district. 
 
"The Board of Education added the assistant principal positions in our district due to the growth of our student populations and the growing needs of our students within our buildings. We will continue to look for opportunities to meet our student's needs," said Richard Proffitt, superintendent of schools. 
 
USD 250 welcomes Adam Brown to Meadowlark Elementary, Jason Coke to Lakeside Elementary, and Kris Crotts and Trevor Elliot to Pittsburg High School.
 
ADAM BROWN has been a Dragon since 2011 when he was a student teacher at Lakeside Elementary. Since then, he has taught fourth grade and kindergarten with many additional duties, bringing 11 years of education experience. Brown will join Meadowlark Elementary as the new assistant principal.
 
JASON COKE returns to Pittsburg as a previous employee at Lakeside Elementary, having worked with the Challenger Program. Coke brings over 13 years of educational experience, most recently as assistant principal and activities director at Iola Middle School. Coke will join Lakeside Elementary as the new assistant principal.
 
KRIS CROTTS
, currently a PHS employee, brings over 16 years of experience in education as a secondary math teacher. Crotts has played many roles at PHS, serving on leadership committees and coordinating academic detention for the past year. He will continue his leadership at Pittsburg High School as an assistant principal.
 
TREVOR ELLIOTT has been a Dragon since 2012, teaching math and history before his current role as the PASS Academy Director for the last five years. Elliott has served on various committees and teams and will join Pittsburg High School as an assistant principal.
 
 
All four new assistant principals come to their new roles with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Pittsburg State University. Each also earned a bachelor's degree from PSU in their area of study. 
 
All will resume duties on July 1.
