Breakfast is widely considered the most important meal of the day. Summer Warren, USD 250 Director of Nutrition, also knows that this is the meal most often missed by students.
"This can be for a variety of reasons, from a simple lack of time to a serious lack of resources. When students eat breakfast, they are more focused, have better behavior, and often show improvement in their grades."
Starting Monday, May 6th, every PHS students will have access to FREE breakfast. This is available at no cost for all PHS Students, regardless of free and reduced status, as a pilot for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year, with hopes of permanent implementation in the 2019-2020 school year.
If you have students in the USD 250 elementary schools, you are already familiar with this concept through Breakfast in the Classroom. USD 250 Middle Schoolers have Grab and Go Breakfast available to them, this will now be available to PHS students!
Please note that due to the expected increase in student participation, there will be only one breakfast time. For the month of May, there will not be a 7:30 serve time for breakfast. All students will have FREE access to breakfast at 9:00.
