Whitney Rogers has been a fourth-grade teacher at George Nettels Elementary for six years. Her constant drive to be innovative in the classroom and help students navigate today's rapidly-changing world makes her one of Pittsburg Community Schools' #DynamicDragons.

"Teaching is one of those jobs where you can really make a difference. I hope to instill a love of learning that will continue outside of my classroom."

"I'm always looking for a new challenge. I love new and innovative techniques and seeing how they help students."

"I've always wanted to be a teacher. When I was five, my sister was two, and I would make her do flashcards, learn her letters, learn her colors. I played school all the time. My mom and grandma were both teachers, so I knew it was in my blood to be a teacher."

"It's what we work for, those 'aha' moments. My job every day is to figure out what I can do to make sure every student gets the lesson. I may teach it differently for different kids, but I also have to adapt to the student based on their needs."

"Preparing students for more education and for life is just priceless."
