Rehearsals and concert planned for Multigenerational Chorus

After a hiatus in 2020 and a postponed 2021 season due to the pandemic, Pittsburg Multigenerational Chorus will once again gather for rehearsals under the direction of Susan Laushman at Pittsburg High School starting on Nov. 9.

Rehearsals are open to anyone of any age who would like to participate and will be held from 10:50 to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the PHS Auditorium with “Encore,” the high school choir. Wednesday rehearsals may be added later if needed.

An alternate rehearsal option will be during “Girl’s Glee” class from 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

A concert, “You’re Gonna Love This,” featuring love songs from the ‘60s to the present day, is planned for Jan. 23 at Bicknell Family Center for the Arts at Pittsburg State University, with both a matinee and evening performance.

The playlist includes such hits as “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson 5, “Love Me Do,” by the Beatles, “All of Me” by John Legend, “I Like It, I Love It,” by Tim McGraw, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” by Queen, and “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton.

The group will be accompanied by The J3 Band, Bob Laushman, and Cooper Neil.

Participants are asked to bring a black three-ring binder.
