Pittsburg, Kan. (Saturday, October 27, 2018) – At about 7 pm, Friday, October 26, Pittsburg Police and Crawford County Sheriff’s Departments were made aware of a possible threat to Pittsburg High School planned for next week. Law enforcement immediately began an investigation. PHS administrators were made aware of the situation and helped law enforcement in the investigation.

Law enforcement has deemed it non-credible. We have and will continue to make the safety of all students and staff our top priority.

“We take all threats and talk of threats seriously. Period,” Superintendent Rich Proffitt said. “We thank our law enforcement community for continuously helping us keep our students and staff safe.”
