Provides first aid. Triage or treat accidents and illness. Administer medications and manage chronic illness, for example, diabetes or asthma. Handle life-threatening allergy and asthma events. Screen students for vision and hearing to make sure there are no barriers for students to learn. Ensure immunizations and health assessments are current. Educate children about healthy lifestyles. Support educational success through IEPs, Individual Health Plans, and disaster plans.
Health Services
Pittsburg Community Schools cares about the health of our students. Each of our school buildings has a nurse or health aid available during the school day. In addition, through a partnership with Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas (CHC/SEK), the mobile health van, KidCare Connection visits each school throughout the week.
